A bit about Nygaire

On leaving school Nygaire qualified as a nurse and then was drawn to working with people with learning disabilities. She qualified as a social worker in the 1980’s and has some 40 years’ experience, working with all client groups, in social care and health, in both Wales and England. Prior to her retirement she held senior management roles and her final role was supporting the Greater Gwent region in the implementation of the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act. She currently has a portfolio of part time roles, she is a Bevan Commissioner and a fee paid Inspector for Care Inspectorate Wales.  Nygaire is passionate about many things but safeguarding and supporting people with dementia are two areas close to her heart. She is a Dementia Friend and Champion and also undertakes voluntary work with Cancer charities.  Nygaire is an Independent Member of the Pobl Safeguarding Committee.
