Going the Extra Mile for the Community; Literally!
One of our amazing Pobl team members has not only arranged for food and goods to be delivered to Pobl tenants, but she has also arranged a collection point for vulnerable people in the community too.
Wenfys Anstee, Scheme Administrator at Cwm Aur, an extra care service in Llanybydder saw that Castell Howell were providing drop-off services in the wider area, but there was no provision for Llanybydder itself.
That’s when Wenfys decided to take action, contacting the Welsh wholesaler to ask if they would travel a little further and add an extra drop off point to their route.
Catrin Evans, Relief Care Worker is in awe of Wenfys and her drive to make a difference. She said…
“Wenfys advertised the new collection point on Facebook. She created her own poster and let everyone in the community know what was going on. “I have heard people talking within our community and they are so grateful for this service, as many of them are self-isolating.”

The collection point has been such a success and so well-received that Castell Howell now visits the village twice a week.
Catrin added, “Wenfys even postponed her annual leave at one point to help.
“Everyone is so appreciative of her efforts during this challenging period”.
It’s true that current situation has left many people feeling isolated and this is especially true for people living in rural areas like Llanybydder.
We’re incredibly proud of Wenfys and the entire team at Cwm Aur, who are working so hard to keep everyone safe – including those in the wider community.
