Loftus in Bloom

Loftus Garden Village has looking even better than usual recently, thanks to the efforts of residents who were entering their gardens into the 'Loftus in Bloom' competition.

Loftus in Bloom was Judged last week by garden competition expert Marion Powell from Usk. Marion has been the recipient of the ‘Best Garden’ award in Usk in Bloom for many years and has also taken the prestigious Wales in Bloom award for Best Kept Garden. Her garden has appeared on Alan Titchmarsh’s Best Front Gardens and in Amateur Garden Magazine.

She was very impressed with Loftus despite judging it under drought conditions and awarded 9 gold, 10 silver and 7 bronze awards to residents. You can view some of the beautiful entries in our gallery below.

Frances Hope, Head Gardener at Loftus Garden Village, said:

"I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who put in the time and effort to look after their front gardens this summer. It’s been a battle against the weather, and we appreciate the work that goes into keeping plants alive in extreme temperatures. Pretty gardens contribute to keep Loftus looking lovely and we encourage everyone to do their bit."
