Coronavirus – Pobl Development Site Update

The very latest information about Pobl housing development sites, all in one place

Ensuring the safety of our team and the communities in which they work is of utmost importance to us.

On 23rd March, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Government issued guidance on what it considered essential and non-essential work.

While no restriction was placed on the construction industry, everyone on the Pobl development team has been committed to following official advice and all colleagues who are able to work from home are doing so.

Away from the Pobl offices and on the building sites we manage, we employ contractor companies to complete works. Some of these contractors have made the decision to continue with their work, whilst adhering to the strict Government guidelines now in place, including cleanliness and social distancing.

Just five of our sites, at the contractors’ discretion, are still operational, of a total 37 (9 of which are sites where we are working with housebuilders to deliver the affordable housing obligations under section 106 planning agreements). All other Pobl development sites have been closed down and secured.

We have been informed by our contractors that they are continually assessing the situation and doing everything they can to minimise risk.

We are constantly monitoring the situation and working in partnership with our contractors to ensure that the latest health and safety guidance is followed, and workers are kept safe during this challenging time.
