Creative reCollections celebrated!
In January 2018 Pobl received a grant of £20,000 over 2-years from ComicRelief to run an arts and activities project our care homes Llys Y Seren and Plas Bryn Rhosyn, working in partnership with Arts Care Gofal Celf Projects.
When the Comic Relief funding came to an end in December 2019, staff at Plas Bryn Rosyn and Llys y Seren decided to throw a massive party for their residents to celebrate the last two years of learning and applying new creative skills.
Let me tell you, it was far from your standard bingo night!
On Thursday, 16th January, Plas Bryn Rhosyn was buzzing with excitement and activity as residents from the two care homes came together to party.
We had willow weaving at one table, where residents were making dream catchers; residents and staff had a go at pyrography with varying results but with a lot of enthusiasm; and everyone joined in the signing and tried their hand at playing different instruments. But it wouldn’t be a party without cake! And we had some tasty treats on display, all in as good cause as we were raising funds for Comic Relief.
We were extremely lucky having been awarded the Comic Relief funding and partnering up with Arts Care Gofal Celf Projects who facilitated the arts and crafts workshops.
The best news is that staff at the two care homes learnt the skills to implement new activities and carry on the legacy.
