Pobl’s Exciting Plans for Swansea in 2020

2019 was an excellent year for the Pobl development teams, with 500 new homes handed over across 10 separate council areas.

As we embark on a new year, it’s only natural to look forward to what will be happening over the next 12 months… And as it turns out, there’s quite a lot going on in Swansea!

Here’s a round-up of the new Pobl housing developments starting this year in Swansea and the surrounding areas…

  • Cambrian Yard, Pontardulais

31 new homes for social rent in Pontardulais.

    Work starts in February 2020.

  • Brithwen Road, Waunarlwydd

45 new homes in Waunarlwydd, including homes:

    – for sale

    – shared ownership

    – social rent

    Work starts in March 2020.

  • Gorwydd Road, Gowerton

99 new homes in Gowerton, including homes:

    – for sale

    – shared ownership

    – social rent

    Work starts in March 2020.

  • Gwynfaen, Penyrheol

144 homes will be built in partnership with Coastal Housing Group, including homes:

    – for sale

    – shared ownership

    – social rent

They will be ‘Zero Carbon’ and are funded by the Welsh Government’s Innovative Housing Programme.

Work is due to commence in June 2020.

Alongside all of this, we already have some very interesting ongoing projects in the Swansea area, including the following…

  • The Sidings, SA1

25 new homes in SA1. These properties are primarily for sale, but 3 will be for social rent.

    Due for completion June/July 2020.

  • Orchard House, Swansea City Centre

52 apartments for social rent above 2 floors of commercial space in Orchard Street, Swansea.

This is a refurbishment that will radically transform/improve the appearance of an existing building in the city centre.

Due for completion in January 2021.

  • Swansea Central, Swansea City Centre

33 apartments for social rent adjacent to the new multi storey car park which forms part of Swansea Council’s major regeneration of the city centre.

    Due for completion in 2021.

Don’t forget, this is just the work going on in Swansea and the surrounding area. The list doesn’t include the projects planned further afield, led by our teams based in Swansea and Newport.

With that in mind, 2020 is set to be another incredibly busy year – we can’t wait to see the developments take shape.
