Monday 4th April saw the rolling out of the red carpet for the inaugural Reach has Talent extravaganza, held at the Celtic Manor and attended by over 200 people supported by reach, as well as dozens of staff including members of our Exec Team.
Amongst the star acts were singers, dancers, drummers and comedians, who arrived from our many projects across Wales & England to showcase their talents and be part of a memorable night of amazing entertainment.
The event was compered by Reach’s very own double act, Ian Oliver, Head of Service Wales and Terry Peake, Support Worker, who gave Ant and Dec a run for their money. Terry said: “It was a privilege to take part and be able to experience the fantastic atmosphere and see the enjoyment of everyone involved.”
Amanda Davies, Group Chief Executive, Pobl Group said:
“Reach really does have talent! I want to say congratulations to everyone who took part in and supported the ‘Reach Has Talent’ event on Monday evening. It was a truly inspiring evening. We support wonderful people. The room was full of laughter, happiness and celebration. All in all a brilliant night out.”
As well as celebrating each other’s talents, the event was a fantastic opportunity for the people supported by reach to interact and socialise with each other, whilst boosting their self confidence.
John Berrow, a gentlemen we support was definitely inspired by what he saw, he told us:
“I really enjoyed it, if we do it again I think I will perform this time!”
A representative from Regent Street and Fieldheys (our England Services) performed a fantastic rendition of Thriller on the night and added:
“An unforgettable and entertaining evening, dancing with your feet is one thing but dancing with your heart is another. We loved meeting new people roll on next year.”
Finally, Natalie Hayes, Regional Manager, Newport & Gwent, one of the organisers of the event summed it up perfectly:
“ One word. Wow. The amount of courage, inspiration, laughter, fun, encouragement, determination and friendship in the room was incredible. I am so proud of those we support and not forgetting our staff. You are literally amazing. You all made the show.”
