A towering Christmas tree and lights donated by housing developer Lovell and Pobl are helping light Loftus Garden Village’s seasonal celebrations.
Standing in the central green space, the 20ft-high tree has created a festive focus for residents at Loftus Garden Village.
The award-winning Loftus Garden Village development is a modern garden village of 250 homes close to the city centre, with brand-new Arts and Crafts-style homes in a landscaped setting. It includes properties for open market sale, shared ownership, social, market and intermediate rent as well as 19 homes available on a co-operative basis. The first residents began moving in towards the end of 2015.
Neil Taylor, Pobl senior project manager, says: “We are delighted to have teamed up with Lovell to help provide the impressive centrepiece of Loftus Garden Village’s first ever Christmas celebration event which featured carols, complimentary mince pies and mulled wine, as well as the switching on of over 1,900 lights.”
Lovell community liaison officer Bernadette Vickery said: “We’re proud to be helping deliver the new Garden Village for Pobl and the tree is our present to the community,” “We hope everyone has a great Christmas and also want to thank them for the tremendous support and cooperation they’ve given our team during the construction programme.”
Decorated with lights donated by Pobl, the Christmas tree brought extra festive sparkle to a ‘carols by candlelight’ event enjoyed by residents.
