Reach is pleased to announce that it has recently won a tender to provide care services in Cardiff.
In May, Cardiff Council invited providers to tender for care services at two extra care schemes in the city until 2020. Following the tender process, we were awarded the contract and will continue to provide care services at Llys Enfys in Llanishen and from Monday (12th December) we are also providing care at Plas Bryn in Fairwater.
We will continue to work closely with Linc Cymru who are the landlords and provide the housing related support at both schemes.
Mark Lewis, Director of Care said:
“We know Plas Bryn and some of the staff and residents really well as we have been the care providers there before. We’re really looking forward to reacquainting ourselves with some of the residents we already know and meeting and getting to know the new ones.
“I’d also like to extend a warm welcome to the 20 staff at Plas Bryn who joined Reach and Pobl Group on Monday. We had a short period of time to complete the transfer and credit must go to all of the staff who have been integral to achieving a smooth and successful transition.”
Pobl Group now operates 9 extra care services across Reach and Gwalia from Burry Port to Blackwood.
Focus on Plas Bryn
Plas Bryn Extra Care is situated in the Fairwater area of Cardiff and enjoys stunning views over the city and out towards the Vale of Glamorgan.
The extra care model allows older people to live independently in their own home, within a safe, secure and supported communal housing setting. Residents at Plas Bryn rent their home from Linc Cymru and can receive an onsite home care service from Reach.
Plas Bryn consists of 40 apartments, 32 x one bedroom and 8 x two bedroom and includes a hairdressing salon, communal space for social activities, assisted bathing and restaurant facilities.
The Scheme Manager and Care Manager work closely to ensure that a high quality service is provided to the tenants.
