Thirty five businesses from across south Wales have helped raise over £11,000 for local people and communities in need at Gwalia Trust’s charity pro-am golf tournament.
Sponsored by Llanelli-based Morganstone and Westacres Homes, the annual fundraising event took place at Langland Bay Golf Club and is a key event on the PGA West calendar.
The winning team was Swansea based solicitors, Peter Lynn and Partners and this year’s event saw unprecedented fierce competition amongst the PGA professionals for the winning spot which was tied between Richard Dinsdale, Brian Lee and Toby Hunt.
Chair of the Gwalia Trust, John Morse, said the course represented a huge challenge on the day with rain and high winds but everyone finished having had a great day’s golfing for a worthy cause.
“We’re extremely grateful to Morganstone for their support,” he said. “our pro-am event is crucial to our fundraising and it goes towards some very worthy local causes, with several local community projects benefitting from a share.”
Gwalia Trust exists to provide grants to projects which provide benefits for individuals and local communities.
