Our pledge to end mental health stigma

At Pobl we’re committed to ending the stigma that surrounds mental health. So on a sunny Swansea day, Richard Davies, Managing Director of Care and Support, put pen to pledge board and permanently marked our commitment as we sign up to the Time to Change Organisational Pledge.

This pledge demonstrates our commitment to change how we think and act about mental health in the workplace. We want our Pobl employees to feel able to speak openly about their mental health with their line managers and colleagues, without fear of discrimination.

Michael Harvey from Time to Change Wales joined us for our pledge signing, he explains “It’s about encouraging organisations to speak out about mental health and raise awareness. It’s a commitment that you’re willing to listen to your employees, helping people to speak out and end stigma.”

This pledge is an important step and responsibility. We’ve got a jam-packed action plan to implement over the coming months, including reviewing our policies, training line managers and running anti-stigma campaigns.

Signing the pledge is just the start, it’s what happens next that counts!
