A group of 14 public-spirited Pobl staff will this weekend (10 June) be lacing up their Asics, and calling themselves a relay team to participate in the ‘Wolfpack’; the UK’s longest point to point non-stop running relay, all in aid of Solas Cymru’s #backonmyfeet campaign.
When someone comes to Solas for their support, it is the first vitally important step to them making permanent life changes and getting them back on their feet and off the streets for good. Regular donations are vital to enable Solas to fund this work.
The aim of the #backonmyfeet campaign is to help raise these funds whilst enabling the people Solas support to try new things, create new friendships and push their boundaries.
Staff and residents are taking on a series of quite frankily daring, if not somewhat painful challenges throughout the Summer, kicking off with the Wolfpack. Lots of the training is being undertaken in staff’s own time.
Running around the clock, the gruelling 160 mile run sets off from Twickenham, taking the runners across rivers and canals and forests and fields, finally finishing an estimated 33 exhaustive hours later in Cardiff.
If you’d like to show your support… Post your feet on Twitter and Facebook #BackOnMyFeet or please donate what you can. Every little really does help.
