The Oakdale and Penmaen Community Partnership and staff from Caerphilly County Borough Council were recently welcomed to the former Oakdale Hotel located in the historic mining village of Oakdale, to have a sneak preview of its impressive transformation.
Staff from our housing, commercial and communications teams showcased the three storey Grade II listed former public house, which has undergone major regeneration works to turn it into nine x 1 and 2 bedroom apartments with an additional three x 3 bedroomed houses adjacent. All the properties are available for affordable rent.
Pobl Group and the local Council worked closely with Cadw and the Council’s Conservation Officer to ensure many of the building’s original features have been retained.
The new tenants are scheduled to move into ‘Oakdale House’ this month, and we are looking forward to welcoming the Housing & Regeneration Minister in the very near future.
