The health and wellbeing of our ‘Pobl people’ is important to us, so this year we used Mental Health Awareness Week (14-20 May) to create activities that would encourage staff to step away from their work to exercise or just talk and socialise with their colleagues and generally have some fun!
#Gonetolunch was the theme of the week, and ‘tea, toast and jenga’, tai chi, yoga, ‘curry and a chat’ and Poblrun were a few of the tasty side dishes on offer. The main meal was definitely reserved for Thursday, now officially renamed ‘Fursday’ or ‘bring your dog to work day’.
Even those staff who didn’t share the same enthusiasm for our canine creatures were fantastically supportive, and could see the positive affect stroking a sausage dog, or watching a labrador wipe its furry bottom across the floortiles had on staff morale!
Overall the week was a huge success and is another step forward for Pobl in creating an environment where staff can talk openly about how they feel, building on the Time to Change pledge that we signed 12 months ago.
Praise for the week …
Top curries and so nice to eat together, catch up and make lunch a shared thing – more please!
So good to get together and chat to people in different parts of the business.
Jack is having a great day working for Pobl. He has been very busy networking on the other floors! This is an amazing day and proves how animals just lift our moods.
HOW AMAZING IS TODAY!!! I have spoken to so many new people today already.
